I rebuilt my primer solenoid , no problem . Pushed the key in but didn't hear a click . Should I ? Also wires going to the solenoid (2) one goes right to it and the other is hanging loose . I didn't take it off at any time . Plus it's hot . Where might it go ?

Primer solenoid should have one wire going to ground and the other going to the key switch. When the key is pushed IN, this turns power on to the solenoid and energizes.

If the wire is hot all the time its miss wired or something is shorting to the hot

I was hoping there was some kind of color code that might help . The wire that always hot , I have no idea if it is for the primer or not . Seems like it's always been there . Of course I know I'm wrong . Wish I could find a pic with them in it. Thanks

The above picture helps but all the wires go into a group of taped wires.

They should be all different colors
The choke primer wire is purple/white and when the key is pushed in, it applies 12V to the choke solenoid. The other side of the solenoid is ground

There should be a ring on the end of the black wire that goes under the solenoid mounting bolt.
