Primer solenoid without vro

Hi everyone, just got my firs boat with 100HP 2stroke Johnson 1997.
Everything seems like ok except a poor start. Got it to the shop and they said the original VRO was removed from engine along with primer solenoid which is a part of VRO.
This way I literally don’t have a chok, not electrical when I push a key in ignition as well as not mechanical on carburetors.
New VRO unit is really expensive. Now there is installed just a fuel pump instead.
Any suggestions how can I help it to start without breaking a bank?

The primer is NOT PART of the VRO at all.-----That primer is a wonderful item used from about 1980 on 9.9 model electric start that does not even have a VRO. ---And motors up the 300 HP and everything in between.----Go back to that shop and have them install the primer again.----And find a better mechanic too.

I am in Atlantic Canada.
Now, I’m trying to get a choke back.
It looks like when the primer solenoid was removed from engine they replaced the hoses, or maybe I just don't know where to look. Please point me up what should be the order of connecting the solenoid to the fuel system?
Where should the inlet and two outlets be connected to the fuel system?

Where exactly the fuel is taking to feed the inlet on solenoid? Do I need to embed a splitter into the fuel hose after the fuel pump?

And two nipples (outlets) come out of the solenoid, where do those hoses go? Are there fittings on the carburetors or, again, do I need to integrate them into the hoses right before carburetors?

I have a V4, two-stroke Johnson 1997

I am in Ontario.---Model # of your motor ?----Sounds like it is the " commercial " V-4 ----Have many of those V-4 motors.------Big nipple on the primer gets fuel pressure from the fuel pump.-----Little hoses from primer go to the top of each carburetor.-----Look for ---evinrudeparts.ca----They may be able to assist in finding a used primer.

Another question for specialists

Have a fuel pump which pumps already pre-mixed gas-oil. I want to integrate a primer solenoid into fuel system.

Should I branch the fuel hose to the primer before or after this fuel pump?

The primer is NOT a pump.-----It is a valve that opens when you push the key in.-----Therefor it needs fuel at pressure to work.-----After the pump is your answer !----And key is pushed in and held in while cranking it over !

This is what I thought, thank you

And yet, the drawing shows that initially the system had a fuel filter, now it is not. There is an idea to embed the filter into the hose after the pumping bulb.
Can you advise what type of filter should be? Since fuel is pre-mixed with oil should it be specific one or just any regular auto?

The factory had a very nice unit installed before the pump.----Hurry to your favorite boat shop.----They will likely have that item in stock !
