1998 Princecraft Ventura 190 Deck Boat, front bench seat was starting to deform a bit, stuck my hand up under the upholstery, and got a handfull of rotten plywood.
I removed the whole unit from the boat, and the entire plywood structure is rotten. So rotten that I am unable to use any of the old parts as templates. And it looks pretty complicated. Any Idea where I might find some help in rebuilding? I have an email off to Princecraft asking for a diagram/plans or even a picture of the thing before the foam/upholstery is applied. I haven't heard anything from them. The seat on the other side seems better, so I may be able to remove it and copy some of the parts. I am kinda afraid what I might find if I remove it as well. This boat has spent it's life in the water with a full cover, after I bought it three years ago I had to replace the transom as it was rotten. I think the full cover just acts like a sauna and traps moisture and heat under it, I have installed one

Welcome to iBoats.
Post up some pics using Photobucket and the IMG Code and we'll be able to help I'm sure. I built seats for my boat from scratch so it shouldn't be to hard to figure out.

Well, ended up taking the starboard (look at me talking all boat like) seat off to compare it with the rotten one. It was bad too, but was able to take it apart and use the parts as templates. Mrs. Ryeandwater helped and we got them both rebuilt. These are complicated pieces of furniture. Curves, notches, oddball parts. But they are done and should outlast me. The vinyl is looking tired, but I am thinking it will be a professional that does that. Princecraft did get back to me and advised me to contact ANP, they manufacture the seats for Princecraft. The boat should be faster now, the old seats weighed a ton, they were so waterlogged.
