Re: Privateer Boats

A buddy of mine back in CT. has a 1991 Privateer. It's either a 21' or 22'. He converted it to a lobster boat and uses it in Long Island Sound. It gets a lot of use every season and has held up really well. I've been out with him in some pretty rough water, and she handles it very well. He actually build a small forward cabin on it for protection and it didn't affect the performance of the rig at all.<br />Stalker

Re: Privateer Boats

Ive got an '86 20' privateer. These hulls are pretty flat and pound hard in rough water but they are built rock solid. Make sure you check the aluminum fuel tank. They foamed in the sides of these tanks and mine is so badly pitted from water leaking in through the deck plates that Ive stopped using it and now run above deck portable tanks. They have to cut out the floor to replace the tank and its pretty expensive. So look closely and factor this in to your offer.
