In the market for a used (2007+) 21-23 foot walkaround to be used for Lake Erie Walleye and perch. Trying to do the research and am hoping for some feedback. I'd like to spend around $35,000. I really like the looks of the newer Pro-line 23 Express. Seating seems great, lots of room, maybe the hardtop. I also like the Striper/Seaswirl, but that seems a little pricey for a Lake Erie boat. The Sea Fox seems to be slightly cheaper and I've heard that the quality on the Sea Fox is suspect.

Any feedback is appreciated....Thanks!

In general, you want the greatest deadrise angle and freeboard. But the specs on these boats may be very similar in these regards. Therefore, it's the layout and convenience features that you prefer that should be the deciding factors. That assumes equivalent condition, maintenance histories, etc.

2007 Proline= no wood. From what i have read on other boat sites is that people who have them really like them. They can be a wet ride in certain conditions. On the web site www.thehulltruth.com there is alot of proline people there that can answer some of your questions. Go to the search box and enter Proline or anything you want to look at and see if anything comes up. In fact there is a guy there that now works for Bluewater boats that worked for Proline and can answer any question that you have. His name is Mike Carrigan. I think SeaSwirl is out of business. Grady Whites are a good rough water boat along with Pursuit. Don't read to many good reviews about the SeaFox. WellCraft are not bad but look for something that has the least amount of wood beneath the waterline. (stringers)
