Hey guys, Im having some issues with a 1977 mercury 1150...first some background info....
I bought it with a boat and it hadn't be started or ran for a few years. I emptied the fuel tank and replaced it with fresh gas mix. Put in a new impeller. I changed the spark plugs and put a new main wiring harness in due to corroded wires. I cleaned the carbs and replaced the floats and gaskets. Timing has been properly adjusted and the compression is good in all cylinders. Starter has been replaced as well.

Ive had it running a couple times in the driveway, and when it was, I was able to get the carbs adjusted to where it idles pretty smooth, but it took a good while of cranking it, pumping the bulb, adjusting the choke, etc. Now it doesn't want to start at all. Any tips, tricks or suggestions? I'm tired of looking at it sitting in my driveway and I really want to be out fishing lol. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you set the timing, and synched it to the carb openings? Idle pickup timing for those distributor ignitions are 4-6* BTDC for idle pickup and 21*BTDC for max timing.

Those motors in general, take full choke and full cold start lever to initially start up.
