I have a force 120, the year is between 1990 to 1994, according to the serial number. I bought off of Craigslist. I took the boat out and after 5 min warming buzzer went off, two minutes later the motor shut off. Dropped the bottom of motor, the impeller and housing was destroyed. Replaced impeller and components, thermostat and thermoswitch. Now it will not start back up. What is my next step to get it running again?

Can you post the details on what you means by, "it will not start back up . . ." Does that mean:
1. It will not even crank over (meaning you switch on the ignition switch to on and start and nothing happens not even a clicking sound)
2. It will crank over but will not fire up (meaning the starter motor engages the flywheel rotates the engine but will not fire or run not even a cough)
3. It will crank over, "coughs" (meaning a cylinder or two will fire and stops) but will not run

Since motor overheated, it is always wise to conduct a compression test before going any further. If you have not done this before search on youtube for detailed procedures on how to do it.

Yes, definitely do a compression test. When the warning buzzer sounds you must stop the engine and let it cool or get towed back. If you run an overheated engine until it stalls, then oil is burned off the piston and cylinders and some amount of damage has usually been done.
