Problem wiring trim gauge, 1989 Johnson 110

I think the picture below is showing where the sending unit is located. I'm assuming that this is the trim gauge. If it is a limit switch please correct me!

The real question is ... where do the wires go to on the gauge? There is one which looks grayish/brownish with a white stripe and a black wire. These go back to the box where the relays for the trim is located. They were removed from the gauge and not labeled. I don't have a clue if they go to the wire wound resistor or only one goes there and the black to the ground or just what they do connect to. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you for posting this. I think I'll finally hook up my trim gauge. Had a hard time finding a diagram and quit looking a while back as other priorities too precedent.
