Its a 89 150 suzuki v6 and they guy I bought it from let it sit up for five years so I cleaned the carbs, (they where all varnished up). The motor ran. I had a promblem with it and when I went to the local dealer he told me that my engine was oil injected and I told him that the guy who owned it before me bypassed the oil pump. So I looked around the engine and noticed that a tube that runs off the back of the carbs had rubber boots on them and that they where all dry rotted up. These rubber boots were where the oil injection use to put oil into the engine. So when I started the engine I heard it sucking and spitting out of these little rubber boots. So I went to auto zone and replaced them and sure enough my engine was smoking alot more and running fine. I took it out today and I noticed that the motor wasnt smoking like it was before. No low oil buzzer or anything but definetely not getting enough oil. What else should I check to see why I am running to lean on oil? When I am at a low idle it runs rough but when cruising or wide open no promblems at all. I am going to change all the fuel hoses to make sure I dont have a pin hole and see if that helps. Any suggestions would help. Thanks.
