I have a Volvo kd43 diesel engine fitted in my Jeanneau Leader 805 boat. It is losing water through the manifold we have had the manifold skinned as they are aluminium, the gaskets are impregnated with silicone having fitted the manifold back on to the engine it is leaking small amounts of water through portholes one and two. Do you know of a silicone sealant that we can use to seal the small water leak. Normal car engine sealant runs up to 180 degrees temperature we need something that runs up to 500 degrees. The fitter is telling me that if we cannot find a water proof silicone sealer we will have to replace the aluminium manifold and have the head (which is steel) skimmed. Any suggestions would be appreciated.*
