Problems installing Minn Kota Powerdrive on Tahoe Q3

I have a 2000 Tahoe Q3 Fish and Ski. It came with a Motorguide Trolling motor mounted on a quick release and I wanted to replace it with a Minn Kota Power Drive. <br /><br />Problem is that the boat looks like it was specifically made to have the Motorguide on it and nothing else. <br /><br />Does anyone know of an adapter plate that will let me install the Minn Kota where the original Motorguide was? The quick release mounting plates for Minn Kota won't work because the Q3 has factory made "bumps" ( I don't have a clue what they are called. Molded bumps that have the Motorguide quick release mounting brackets on them ).<br /><br />Has anyone ever rigged a Minn Kota Power Drive on a Tahoe Q series boat? <br /><br />Seriously frustrated and have already spent a lot of money on this.

Leave the MotorGuide plate in place. Mount the MinnKota plate to the MotorGuide plate.

Leave the MotorGuide plate in place. Mount the MinnKota plate to the MotorGuide plate. If you don't like that idea, a machine shop can cut a flat aluminim plate (probably about 1/4 or 5/16 inch thick) with the same dimensions at the MotorGuide plate. Mount the MinnKota to the aluminum plate. Same principle as my first suggestion but a little more sanitary.

My suggestion, sell the motor guide and plate and use the money to get a plate made as suggested already. It will work and look the best. <br /><br />I took off the orginal TM on my F&S and mounted a Minnkota PD. I wish now, I would have had a plate made instead of drilling more holes.

Thanks guys! I made a template using the motorguide plate and the base of the Minn Kota Motor. Took it to a machine shop like Upinsmoke suggested and hopefully will have it back on Wednesday.<br /><br />It's just amazing to me that I haven't been able to find anyone that has run into this before. I even emailed Tracker and Minn Kota and asked about it but haven't gotten a response from either of them.
