Re: Problems with Mercury Optimax 135 & 150s

Shindig, I have a 2002 Optimax 150 and have had it since last January. In that year I have had exactly ZERO problems with it. It runs smooth and strong and I have about 150 hours on the engine. The only complaint that I do have is that service is very expensive for the 100 hour service and that an experienced mechanic who is used to working on Optimax Engines is not easy to find. I love this engine but I would'nt buy another one for that reason. I hope that I don't run into all of those nightmare problems that I see posted here about Optimaxes. Good luck with yours!
