I have a 1994 Bayliner with a 5.0 V8, this unit has been very trouble free for years but this season I am having problems with the trim/tilt control. The trim will lower the outdrive with the down button but will not raise it however if you use the trailering switch on the bottom of the control then the outdrive will raise. It sounds like the switch is making on the control and I have checked for any corrosion on the connections on the hydralic motor and selenoids.
Any suggestions would be appreciated

Re: Problems with the trim

Friend with a merc outdrive had a problem raising drive and found that the microswitch on the throttle linkage (near tilt motor) was bad.

Re: Problems with the trim

Either the switch at the control is faulty or the trim limiter sending unit is faulty.

TMD
