Ok, I did a search and also read the recent post by firepastor......but I (sad to say) have never had a boat with a live well and pump/aerator system in it. Similar to FirePastor, I'm putting back together a '90 ProCraft, and have everything on dash working except the live well pump(s). On this boat there is a recirculation valve plumbed to a Basserator pump with a "T" fitting through transom. My guess is that when valve is closed its supposed to recirculate the water from drain port of live well tank to the aerator jets at top of tank and when the valve is open its bringing fresh water into the tank. I have a manual/off/aerator switch on dash. Next to it is a auto/off/recycle switch. I only get power to motor in manual setting combined with recycle setting. To confuse me more is another pump which is plumbed to another transom inlet, that goes to another aerator jet in the same tank. This pump seems to be plumbed in a loop from outlet of pump to a "T" and the pipes go up to the tank exiting out a set of jets at top of tank. So one of the pumps is an add on. The 2nd one I mentioned looks to be original plumbing but not original pump set up, since the inlet pipe to the Attwood pump doesn't look original. This pump is presently burned out, I'm not able to get cartridge motor off the pump base.
What I need to know is how is a live well plumbed normally, and how to operate it. I haven't been able to get the timer circuit to actually fire the motor on the Basserator motor, yet. So I have two problems. Not sure of timer circuit working properly, and whether the plumbing is correct for one or even 2 pumps.
