but first i need help identifying it.... the registration says its a 1976 aerocraft
motor model number is RKL-28B.... not very computer savy so i am having issues locating/researching
things...google sucks.. lol... would prefeer human help...
boat floats and motor runs but does not seem/sound right..... so with that said please help me!!!!
can someone help me find a free manual or something that could give me a little insight or perhaps

ok so after taking the boat out lastnight i was on the water all was going well then all the sudden the motor jolted and then the motor reved up but i wasnt going no where.... put it in neutral and then tryed to put back in forward and it wouldnt engage... motor just reved .... so i put back in neutral waited for motor to idle down then put it in revers and it engaged so i went back to neutral and slowly pushed the shifter forward and it engaged is i started heading back to shore it started raining hard so i pushed the shifter a little bit more... to increase speed a little and it slipped out of gear again ..... sp i put it in neutral and used the troller to get back to the launch ... got home put the boat in garage and went to bed cuz i was pissed!.... just went out there and noticed there was a black spot on the ground under the motor i noticed it was dripping from the bottom horizontal fin underneath from this tiny hole... so i took the fill screw out and water came out followed by the 90w .... also when i put the motor in either forward or reverse and spin the prop it spins in either direction...doesnt catch... but if i start the motor reverse engages but forward dont.... so does this sound like my bottom end is junk??? and can anyone help me locate a replacement lower end for my boat??? because i searched the best i could and i cant find any johnson parts older than 68

It is not supposed to have 90W gear oil in there.-----Type-C for electric shift.---Also called " premium blend " by BRP products.---A 1968 lower unit is the same as yours.------If in Canada----evinrudeparts.ca ----may be able to help you.

Just a suggestion, but you might drain it and fill it up with ATF. Run it some, and drain it to try to get out the remainder of the 90wt. I would spring for premium blend when ready to go, but your call.
