The connection to my '97 ProMax 150 came loose for an undetermined amount of time. The 'inside the cowling' reservoir was full when I discovered this disconnection. The motor would run about 20-30 seconds and then shut down. The engine never overheated (stayed below the half way mark on the temp gauge) Reconnecting the main reservoir solved the problem and the motor does not seem to run differently.

Questions:
1.) is it likely I have damaged my motor? Would checking my cylinder pressure or something similar be advisable?
2.) do both reservoirs serve the same function (that is, a redundancy to avoid damage under the same or similar scenario as I experienced)
3.) the rubber tube that connects the main reservoir to the 'inside the cowling' reservoir' initially connects to a brass "T" connector before continuing on to the reservoir. The other side of the "T" connector is not attached to anything and appears completely open. Should this be attached to a tube that I'm not finding or possibly have a plug on it?

Thanks so much!

Re: Promax 150 oil injection

Off the top of my head, no it shouldnt have damaged your motor, the tank on top of your motor is where the oil primarily comes from therefore if it still had oil in it you are laughinging. The other tank is simpliy a back up if the other tank gets low, the presureised system fills up the primary tank so they are the same but also independant. To your last question, there should be a free hose end which operates as a breather, no problem there. Theres a one way valve in that brass t peace which doesnt allow oil out, have fun
