Promblem under load

Well got the boat ready for the season, started on ears and ran the motor for a little to blow the carb from fogging. The motor was fine. Toke the boat for a shake down at the river and would not get pass 3 rpms. The motor would bog down when I throttle up in gear. When I took it out of gear and revved it the rpm would be fine. Any clues

The motor is a evinrude yr 93 115hp the 3rpm is all the motor will go in gear at full throttle when in the water, put out of the water there is no problem.

Sounds like you have something wrong in your charging system or tach. Do a compression and spark test (open air gap 7/16") and get back to us. What rpm do you get out of water?

Ya tach is fine, The rpm shots up out of the water when in gear, I know you shouldn't do that put had to check.

Sounds like it's running on 1 or 2 cylinders. Check spark, compression and carbs. Also get an OEM factory service manual. Good trouble shooting procedures in them. Your tach could also be off.
