Thanks for all the good information here... but i have a unique situation

My father-in-law does not have a right foot but loves to ski. Because of his situation he can not get up on two skis and kick off one, he must get up on a one. We know he can ski so it is not a problem with the skier.

I think the problem is with my boat. I have a 1999 Bayliner Capri 1750 with a 3.0L and alpha one. It appears it just does not have the guts to pull him up.

Someone told me to change from my current three blade prop to a four blade to get a better "dig". Does this sound like the right direction or do you all have any better ideas? I am currently running a three blade 21P prop.

Yes. 4 blade props are generally better performers when it comes to skiing and wakeboarding. Assuming that your RPM's are where they should be, then move into a 14x20 4 blade.

I did the same on a similar setup with my 3.0l penta with 1.94 gears. Went from a 14.25 x 21" three blade to a 14.25 x 20" 4 blade Stiletto Bay Pro II. You'll gain holeshot and better midrange but you'll lose WOT top end speed so don't be surprised.

How much top end do you think i will lose?

I was thinking about a 19P four blade.

Find a shop that'll let you test a few. You could easily lose 5mph. You'll need to keep an eye on your WOT RPMS as well - don't want to overrev your motor.
