the prop on the 15 hp 2 stroke johnson, I recently bought for a kicker motor, is spun...

if i was going to prop out this kicker motor to best fit my 20 ft mod V, that is weighing about 1300 with the main motor..

what would be a good start??

Iboats offers from 5" to 11" all about 9-10" in dia

I wouldnt want to fry my motor because the rpms are through the roof, trying to puish my big boatm, if i get in trouble..

plus it would make a nice trolling motor.

thanks

Re: prop advice for 15 hp

You could try calling Midwest Propeller. I've used them before and they've always been able to answer any questions I have and they have a coupon page on their website. www.midwestpropeller.com or email bob@midwestpropeller.com.

thanks, i called, the guy didnt have a clue and didnt know how to respond....

so maybe it is somethign that doesnt get asked or come up often.

but to me it makes sense to know you are not over reving...or under reving..

i just dont know if no planing situation are the same as planing situations..

If i had a good prop, id just go ahead and check the rpms with a tach...but I need to buy a prop...so id like to get close before i lay out the cash

I believe it came with a 10" of course it could be changed depending on the original boat. You should really have a tach to be sure you get it right.
Hunting blind I would go with a 7"
