Boat is Nidelv 18, 18 feet daycruiser 1050 kg(~2300 punds)
Engine is a slightly tuned 2.3 liter Volvo Penta four. About 140 hp@5500 rpm. HP curve is flat from 5200-6500

Running oem Volvo Penta 14x19 auluminum prop today. Very good holeshot when lightly loaded, tops out at 33knots (38mph)@5300 rpm. Trimming the drive out has very little effect on top speed.

When loaded with 4 adults, 3 children and gear, time to get on plane seems forever, but top speed still nearly the same.

I want to try a stainless steel prop with less pitch, but feel that going down to 17 is maybe too little pitch? (I want to retain top speed, and at best gain1-2mph)

Any advice appreciated
