Boat is a 14' Larson fiberglass "V" hull, similar in design to 1969+ Glasspar G-3. Motor is a 1963 Merc 1000. Approximate weight of boat+motor is 1100 lbs. Prop which came with the motor is damaged (1"x1/2" chunk out of the end of one blade). This prop is a 13 1/2x 17p aluminum 3 blade prop. What is a good size prop to use as a starting point for finding the right prop (something that will get me in the right ballpark wrt performance and engine rpm)? Would it be worthwhile repairing the prop which came with the motor, and getting a baseline with it, or should I try something with a different pitch first? Also, what kind of performance (speed, hole shot) should I expect to see with this rig? Motor does not have T/T, and the cav plate is about 1/2" above the keel of the boat. Boat/motor setup has not been run yet.

Thanks
