can anyone help me out with an explanation of the steps to instaling a prop for a 1988 40hp johnson? wen i bought the motor it had no prop, i bought the prop an the nut an washers that go after u slide in the prop, but in the manual it talks about a "thrust Bearing" which goes in before the prop, is that really necessary? im puting in an aluminum michigan prop. <br /><br />Also do i REALLY need to use a torque wrench when instaling the prop nut,,,does everyone really use that? or can i jsut tighten that sucker right up an put the pin through? ...thanks
