I tried a loaner prop from a local shop to replace my beat up nasty spun hub prop, and know what size and pitch i need. Sadly the guy wants close to $300 for the used and reconditioned prop he loaned me.. so now i am on the search for the right replacement. I know I need 13 3/8'ish 15 pitch 13 spline for my 83 Johnson 90hp pushing a 16' cape horn.
My question is all the prop brands out there.. is there a good performance comparison or chart listing all the main brands' purposes? I can't seem to find any objective comparison of what these brands are best at (hole shot, top speed etc.) or why pick appolo vs vortex etc?
