i have a 1996 landau pro 17 with a 1987/1995 88 spl.i have been running a stainless michigan wheel appolo 13.25x19p prop and at WOT i was getting 4600-4800 rpm's,i put a new 13.25x17p on recently and at WOT i now get 5000-5200 rpm's.
i want to make sure im running the proper rpm's,what is the recamended WOT for this motor?
thanks in advance....

Re: prop change 88 spl erude

The 88 develops its power at 5000 max rpm is 5500.
While I believe the overall rpm range is 4500 - 5500 I feel its better if the motor achieves its hp rated rpm.
That way the motor struggles less with a hole shot and added weight.
It may have been faster with the 19 but it will struggle less with the 17 and stay on plane easier at reduced throttle.

i will have to agree with above statement.with the 17p i definatly get a better holeshot and it also seems like more of the boat is out of the water even at cruise speeds, and if anything i only lost 1-2mph over the 19p....thanks for the imput....
