Prop: difference between 4 bld and 3 bld

My boat is currently over proped with a 19' pitch. WOT is only 3200RPM. I was going to try a 15" pitch. I have been told I should try a 4 blade. The boat is a '78 20' Grady White ~3000lbs with a 165 Mercruiser IL6. If I was to try a 4 blade, should that also be a 15" pitch? Will the 4 blade get me on plane sooner?

Yes, Tony, You need a 15X15 Prop.... a 4 blade won't hurt a thing... It Might help... There's only 1 way to find out.... <br />Try Them Both....
