prop diffuser ring

Iwould like to put my boat in the water very soon, and am busy making sure all things are up to scratch. I noticed the prop diffuser ring was missing from my prop....my motor is a 90hp johnson ...j90tleor....what effect will this have on the performance of the boat....and where can i purchase one....thank you

It depends on what brand the prop is as to where you can buy one. And it depends on the set up and relationship between that hull design and the prop design as to the effect.

Thanks Dh....you may remember helping me last year with regards to setup of this engine on my boat after the ring let go and complete rebuild......anyway I havent had a chance to get it in the water to get a few hrs on it for break in then do some checking of the #'s to see if anymore tweaking of the setup is necessary...<br />As for the prop i beleive it is alum....13.75x 15...and I beleive it is an original omc

That ring is available from Evin / John dealers. I doubt anyone stocks it though. Run the boat as is and lets see what happens. <br /><br />You'll need a ss prop anyway, right?

Im not sure on the ss prop....would it be of any great advantage to me?????....I also have a 14x19 new never used alum mich prop....would that help or hinder rpm????....also I run this boat at sea level if that makes any diff in setup....hoping 4 the weather to break...getting kinda antsy to try this thing out after the rebuild...

Run both. Good comparison, especially if you get the ring back on the OMC prop. My concern is that the cost of that ring will make you think about putting that same $$ towards a new prop. Sounds like corporate thinking. Maybe not....

Send the rain here....please. Weekend or not! The yard crunches when birds walk on it and all this dead wood from the storms is just right for kindling.....
