I have a Alpha 1 outdrive and a 5.7l V8 and was crusing along last night just fine and the engine rev'ed very high all of the sudden. I put it in neatral then tried to put it in gear, forward and reverse, and it wouldn't go. Within a couple of minuted the temp shot up about 50° and sounded the warning alarm. Had to get towed back to the slip. I don't think I spun the prop becuase it over heated. Any Ideas?

coupler all day long read other post do seach for over heat or a seach for revs in gear if you spun a prop it would not over heat if you killed you coupler it would over heat and no forward or reverse ps look for rubber peices underneath your oil pan or rear of engine or where your drain plug if you have not drained the boat when you pull the drain plug and water comes out you will see peices of rubber
