Prop end play

If I grab the prop and pill out how much slack should it have? If I put it in gear and then pull out on prop should I feel it slip and turn? If it's in gear and push in it turns the gears with no slip. I assume the slip when pulling is not correct and something is out of adjustment?? Thanks in advance. Jeff

Every motor and outdrive is different. Without knowing year/make/model, nobody can accurately answer your question....

1993 seaswirl. 5.0 efi with omc outdrive. I'm chasing a really bad vibration and wondering if this might be a possibility?

1993 OMC I am not real familiar with...that's pretty close to the year when they were changing drive styles. I'm not sure if this is one of the newer Volvo SX type drives, or if it was the earlier model...

This is really not a propeller issue, and not too many people here will be very familiar with your OMC setup. I would suggest you repost your question over in the OMC repair subsection of Iboats, and I am certain you will get many more responses than you will here in the prop section. They may want the model number or serial number of your outdrive so they can identify it properly...or a picture.
