I have a 36' Carver and had an incident..(LOL) at the end of the season and have done some real serious damage to the 2 bronze props and the mechanic is not sure they are repairable. I did a search and WOW they cost about $1500+.

Can I purchase/use anything other i.e. s/s or aluminum?

I don't mind paying for the bronze if I have no other choice, but I'm just wondering why they have to be bronze?

Re: Prop experts help

Insurance should cover the damaged props, depends on your deductable. I would be shopping on EBay for another set. I dont think I've seen alum on larger boats, I think they would flex way to much. SS props would get pricy too, but never seen them on large boats either.

If you boat's still in the water, find a scuba diver to pull your props. Then take them to a good prop shop. They can advise you on your options.

Winter is no big deal to scuba divers, as they often dive all year round.
