Prop for 04 glastron sx195 4.3 v6 190HP

I would like to get a new prop for next season,but not quite sure what to look for.I guess my question would be what pitch size am I looking for.

Don't get mad at me but when you look for new pants, isn't the first question the sales person asks "what size do you currently have on"? d The same question applies to props. Without knowing what prop you have now, what the wide open throttle rpm is, what your current maximum speed is, and what load you normally carry, what water sports you do if any (ski/wake/tube) and what performance characteristics you want to achieve or fix (good hole shot/bad hole shot/better cruise/higher top speed, etc) we can't possibly give any meaningful advice. Do some test runs noting the data referenced above and maybe we can help. As delivered, the boat "probably" came with a three blace 21 or 23 pitch prop in either aluminum or stainless. Numbers are typically stamped on the hub. It may turn out the prop you have is exactly what you need so buy the same identical replacement.

As Silver stated above:

1.current speed at wide open throttle
2.RPM at wide open throttle
3.prop pitch along type of material and perhaps brand type

If you give that info there are a few individual's in this forum that have enough insight,that they can maximize your boat's preformance potential both speed and economy in very short order and save you a lot of money at the same time.........Prop's can be expensive

Some thing's i have picked up was the type response's you can get from different prop design's. Two major difference's are the 3blade giving maxium speed and 4 blade providing maxium thrust from a dead stop and also smoother operation (less vibration).

And from there,are the litte suttleties in both type's and that is why the guru's here like to know your boat's current preformance so they can best match a prop to your boat that will give you the most satisfaction.
