I'm working on this boat and it had a damaged 14.25 X 21 3 blade on it. Found a 14.5 X 19 3 blade prop that I will do sea trials with. How much difference should this prop make? I will keep it for a spare and replace with the right prop if it is much different...Boat weighs approx 3500 lbs... Thanks for any opinions

Very basically the diameter shouldn't matter much the 19 will likely produce a stronger hole shot
and "about" 400 more rpm. This is assuming they are similar design.Do a lightly loaded wot
test run get us the rpm and gps speed.
You will probably be able to use it the 19
till you decide on the right prop based on your numbers.
Just watch the rpm.

Wot rpm range is 4200-4600 rpm if we assume 4600 with a 19" prop 10% slip we get ABOUT 46 mph
4600 with the 21 makes ABOUT 51 mph.
If the motor is healthy it will likely over rev with the 19 and a light load.

Thanks very much for the info. Am resurrecting this boat. Hung from a boat lift since 2002 when the owner died. Bought it from his estate a month ago. Has only 230 hours on it but have had to replace anything rubber on it...Motor cranks on one turn and sounds very healthy :) Am planning on first sea trial tomorrow weather permitting..Will run for an hour or two then change all filters and fluids...Hope to be out on the St Johns river for the 4th...Wish me luck
