i have a 2005 glastron sx 170 w/ a 150 merc xr6( max RPM range 5000-5600) and while i was driving the boat at idle speed last weekend, i must have hit a chain or some object that holds down a very large swim raft and it cut the edges of each of the three blades pretty good. i know i didnt hit the bottom because the sleg was not scuffed at all. i have decided to save this prop as a backup which is a 3-blade quicksilver black max aluminum 21P and have chosen to go with stainless steel. this prop was great and it gave me an amazing hole shot and great top end as well(56 mph). my rpms w/ the trim down is 5000 and up it goes to about 5200-5400 depending on how much i trim up. i was wondering whatprop you thought would be my best bet for similar performance. i would like to keep close to the same top end and possibly a better holeshot. i was thinking along the lines of a good three blade? any help would be appreciated.

OK, let's go this route...What holes are used to mount the engine? How high off of the transom is the engine if the first hole is not used??

Walleyehed - if it is indeed a Quicksilver Black Diamond 21P, the diameter is most likely 13 3/4", unless it is the XT version with the 14 1/4" diameter.

If that's the case, a Vengeance would be the step-up in SS in Merc, or a Lexor by Solas would be real close in a 19P for max RPM and over-all good performance.
