prop for 454 bravo 1

Hi <br />I have a 23.5ft Wellcraft 236SC Eclipse with 454/7.4L. Bravo 1. The WOT is 4650, the boat weighs 3875 dry and the current prop is 15.25" x 19 pitch (3 blade stainless mirage). The manual says 51mph at WOT, but the speedo says closer to 60mph. I use this boat for everything: skiing, wakeboarding, cruising and speed.<br /><br />My questions are:<br />1. Can I get more top end speed with a different prop without damaging anything?<br /><br />2. When pulling a wakeboarder at 18-20mph the boat alternates between plane/no plane making it impossible to maintain a constant speed. Will a different prop help this problem?

1) Can you verify speed with a GPS? I maybe believe the 51. No way the 60. What manual?<br /><br />2) Adjustable trim tabs or Smart Tabs will make a huge difference. I can maintain a plane down to 13 MPH with my tabs and a 23 footer, huge wake. Not as heavy as the Eclipse, but would still make a big difference.<br /><br />I know that boat, almost bought one. Cool ride. Don't believe anything about that dry weight carp . . . spec sheets lie <br /><br />BTW, welcome to iboats!!!
