Hi All, A boating newbie here.

I recently got a boat with an old chrysler 115hp motor which I am slowly bringing back to health. The motor is now running ok but the prop has a few dings and needs replacing. Is anyone able to advise what I need to measure/look for in order to get the specs to replace it?

Many thanks.

Re: prop for chrysler 115hp

How old is the 115? If it is after 1979, it will have a one piece lower unit. This lower unit has a long gearcase with water pick-ups on the side right behind (forward) the prop. Prop hub and shaft are 15 splines. It is relatively easy to get props for these engines. Some mercury props will fit.

If it is prior to 1979 it will have a two piece gearcase. This is a short gearcase with water pick-ups above the gearcase torpedo. Shaft and prop hub is 17 or 18 splines and the hub protrudes from the prop and is located with a 5/16 diameter drive pin. It takes more work to get props for these engines but if you look hard enough and in the right places, they are available--usually used though.

If you are looking for parts or props, best place to try would be The Chrysler Crew. There is a chat room, a classified section, and a questions forum there.
