Prop for mercury 9.8

I need a prop for my mercury prop has eight splines.My question is i found a mercury 20hp prop it has eight splines.Any one know if this prop would work on my 9.8

My official Merc prop book says no...
the smaller engine has props listed in smaller diameter, but from 5-1/2P thru 9-1/2P
for the 20HP, it lists 9-1/2P thru 14-1/2P in a larger diameter.
Your little Merc isn't a 4-stroke is it?

The same prop fits 4, 6, 7.5 and 9.8Hp of that era. The 20s have their own unique prop that doesn't fit anything else.
