Re: prop for sale

JC - You have been a member for over two years. You know selling is not allowed in the forums.

Re: prop for sale

ca never understand why someone is not allowed to sell the odd bit, but obviously not a place for everything by commercial dealers.
why don't this site have a part for secondhand stuff, im sure it would not affect new stuff from being sold.

still, rules are rules I suppose.
just place a link to what you have elsewhere, that not against the rules is it ?

Re: prop for sale

Not selling on this forum is a business decision that iBoats has every right to make. The site is free, folks volunteer their time to help solve problems so in effect repair information is free. There are plenty of places to list used stuff for sale. Unloading known problematic stuff on this site would give iBoats a bad name. You and I both know that's exactly the kind of the stuff that would be pawned off here. Am I a skeptic? You Betcha!!

Agree + 1... If they want to sell, go to E-Bay or Craigs List.

Re: prop for sale

I don't know of any other sites like this that don't have a selling section ?
brs and scream and fly have them as do most sites and they too are all free sites.
I would say the decision to not have a for sale bit on here is purely financial on iboats part.
most of the experts on here are also on other forums, and yes they do give great advice for free, but that is nothing to do with iboats.
the advertising on the site for iboats and its many sponsors covers their cost many times over.
this site is only good because of the members, not the iboats company.

I myself have run a few forums and do know the time it takes to get one up and running. but without the support of members using it
to give advice and show people how to do certain things the sites die in weeks.

iboats has become a community of boat lovers from all across the globe, its not a little shop that keeps it all going so well.

always remember, a forum is only as good as its members, lucky we have so many helpful people on here to keep us all going good..

and I still say it SHOULD have a for sale OR exchange section, after all there is adverts at the top of every page and down the sides
so its not like its unlawfull to advertise parts new or old on here !!!!!!!!

might even get a larger following if there was such a section. especially if it was in the uk ha ha

Re: prop for sale

I happen to like technical things and answering questions. If I wanted to see a bunch of dam want adds, I'd go some place else !!!!!
