Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,..... Propin' just for trollin' generally ain't an option,....

So,.... Most of Us dirty up the hull to slow it down,....

Simplest is tyin' 5gal. plastic pails off forward cleats,....
Next is tyin' off over-sized drift socks to the forward cleats,...
Or runnin' over-sized trim tabs, full down,.....

Some use trollin' brakes mounted to the motor, but I don't like 'em, at All,....

Shifting in and out of gear will shorten the life of the shift/clutch dogs.
Make sure the motor idles at 650-700.What speed Trolling? It's highly unlikely to get a 150 down to trolling speed with a prop.
Prop would be pretty much useless for anything else
You need a trolling plate or maybe throw in a 5 gallon bucket or a drift sock.
