Re: Prop gurus!

Oh I forgot to add I also run a BA 130. This might be the reasoning for the added speed my motor is mounted in the highest hole.

Calculator doesn't take into consideration boat design just the speed prop can do based on the input.
Based on your input you are running negative slip.Is there current where you run?

Re: Prop gurus!

I never got the raker. I did however go test some props and got a powertech. My dealer did not recommend a raker, and he sells BRP props, said its designed for the larger motors, I also don't believe those prop calculators,, my GPS don't lie!!! I'd definitely look at the power techs though

Agreed. My GPS don't lie either. Which powertech did you with? What size? What is your speed now? Thanks

Re: Prop gurus!

I got an OST power tech, 18 pitch.. I haven't run it unloaded by myself, but when I was testing props I ran a 17 pitch OST at WOT 36mph 5900 RPMS.. I've ran the the 18 by myself loaded with 2 batteries trolling motor and fishing gear, coolers, etc... WOT 35mph, 5600RPmS... The diameter of the props seemed to make a huge difference in RPMS, the 17 pitch was like 13 3/8" and the 18 pitch is 13 1/4... Same way when I run the viper, its 13 7/8 with a 17 pitch was going over the rev limiter...
