prop help on a 500,50 mercury

hello there
i have just bought a 1977 500 50hp mercury and the prop needs replaced.
only thing is it wont come off the shaft , i thought it was a case of undoing the nut and sliding it off but no go, i dont think the engine has run for some time and i am working on that as well at the moment, any help would be much appriciated as i dont want to force it

You need to use a puller to remove it, you might be able to rent one, if not you'll have to bring it in to a shop.

i was wondering about that when i seen the dimple on the end of the shaft
many thanks will get the puller out today and remove it
