Hey guys I know Im not a reg poster but love the stuff I read on here and have benifitted quite a bit from it. Had a bit of trouble today and was wondering if I can run it by some of the guru's here. I may be in the total wrong direction here but it was my first init tought.

this is the run down,
Merc 9.8 Ser 6563607 Mod 110
Motor was running strong at WOT, then was just reving as if prop had fallen off. Had to limp it back as it would only push the boat at an idol, any more throttle and it just seemed to rev higher but not spin the prop any faster. Reverse seemed to work fine. Once on trailer the prop makes a skiping noise and spins fairly easily in forward but is still tough to rotate in reverse. Could this be a possible spun hub and if so does this prop have a removable hub or one piece i.e. need a whole new prop/hub *** or just a new hub?
Thanks,
Brent

Re: Prop/hub question

That's where I'd start - pull the prop and take a look at the hub. Usually just need to replace the hub.

Re: Prop/hub question

I got the prop off and yes the hub was smoked. still not sure what would be alowing the shaft to turn easily while in the forward gear but not in reverse. Any info on that would be greatly app.
Thanks,
Brent

Re: Prop/hub question

In forward resistance in ccw and ratchiting cw, neutral free both ways, reverse resistance both ways
