I'm not sure about this but here is my confusion.
The outboard is a 1986 75HP 2 stroke Mariner, the boat is a 15ft bass boat, the current aluminum prop # 48-77344 A40 17P aided with a doelfin returns 5500 rpm @ wot.
When the doelfin is removed the boat struggles to get on plane in a manner that is inconsistent with the norm.
The engine is in great condition, no other performance issues other than the afore mentioned.

Should i be looking at a prop with different pitch?

I'd say the set up is pretty close and takes advantage of the Doel Fin as a tool. Were you thinking of changing props for some reason?

The prop is a bit beaten up around the edges these days, in neutral when hand spun it also makes a slight grating noise as if sand or silt got in.
It's giving me hell to get off.
