prop issue

OK i have a vip 23ft . with a 460 and yes the king cobra drive... So i just had the drive rebuilt and went out with machanic to test. results 56mph with the viper 14.25 23 pitch. @5000 rpm (band 4400-4800) so i order a 14.5 25 lexor..... and now i get only 3400 rpm. something aint right .. the boat dont even want to plane once it does i go 48 mph @ 3400 rpm...

With that drastic drop I wonder if you have lost a cylinder.You could go back to the 23 a see what happens.Or pull plug wires one at a time at the distributor.

Ohh Sorry forgot to say.... I did put the 23 back on and was right back to where i was.... Now My 23 has been real thinned out on the leading edge.. to the point it gave me stiches after it cut me when i put it back on... now if u use the prop wizard it recomends a 19 or 21 and im at 23 Im wonder if My current prop hasnt been modified or something to get the rpms up and the 25 is new in the box...

well finally got my answers.... My 14.25 23 is really after being worked on BY preavous owner a 13.75 21. so now i have just recieved a 15-23 lexor and will be testing this week .
