What is the purpose of the converging ring on a 9.9-15hp Johnson/Evinrude prop? I've been through 4 props in as many years and the props keep losing that ring?
It's listed as a separate part but no dealer has of yet been able to find me one.
The props are all from OMC, and the rest of the prop is fine with very little use. Are these pressed on, glued on or what?
The part I am referring to is #52 - p/n 0319484 in the parts pic below.
