CANT GET BOAT ON PLANE SOMEONE GAVE ME AN<br />OLD JOHNSON MOTOR AND I PUT IT ON MY GRUMMAN<br />16 FOOT BOAT IT STARTS TO ACELLERATE AND THEN THE ENGIN RACES AND YOU GO NOWHERE.<br /><br />IS THE MOTOTR TO SHORT. ANY WAY TO USE THIS FRRE MOTOR, IS THIS REALLY MY PROBLEM

cavitation plate, which is the plate that you would hook hydrofoils on, or the bigger looking wing above the prop needs to be level with the bottom of the transom, give or take an inch. Do you have the motor tilted at all. If tilted up to much, when you pick to boat up out of the water on plane, the prop will lose its bite. Good luck, let us know what you come up with

ILL TRY TILTING THE MOTOR FORWARD AND TRY IT<br />IF THE PALTE IS STILL TO HIGH CAN I DO ANYTHING TO THE TRAMSOM OF THE BOAT TO LOWER THE MOTOR. ITS AN ALUM. GRUMANN
