Ihave a 20 h.p. evenrude. I had trouble getting my prop off and finally had to cut it off, it was froze on. I am getting a new prop but would like to know if instead of using marine grease can i use anti-seize lubricant instead. Thanks for the input. BOB.

Re: prop lubrication

Use marine grease, but do not leave the prop on for another 20 years before you take it off.

Yes, Marine grease is the way to go. Remove the prop each winter and clean and grease the prop shaft.

I use a grease called Triple Guard from mercury and you can get it any where they sell quick silver (mercury) parts and lube. It works great and never have a problem pulling a prop. After you get this squared away you should pull the prop every time you winterize your boat or if used in salt water allot!

Triple Guard is not a Mercury product ... it's a BRP product.

OMC/BRP Triple Guard is waterproof and that is why it works as well as it does. I've never had a problem removing propellers when that was used.
