Prop ? (new boater)

I'd like to squeeze a little more speed out of a 25ft cabin cruiser, The motor and outdrive seem to be in great shape so don't want to mess with them. The prop however has a few knicks so i wouldn't mind changing it. what characteristics of a prop change the speed, is a 4 blade faster than a 3 blade? etc.

You'll have to read "read this first" at the top of the prop forum and get us as much info as you can.
we need to know how well your setup works to tell if you need help and shot sort of help.
4 blade props usually improve low to mid range performance at a slight sacrifice of top end.
