Hi, new to the forum and I want to know if is screwed up. I was out with the family and after leaving the beach I took off and everything was fine for a second and then I large vibration came form what seemed to be coming from the prop\ motor so I backed off and noticed the trim was to high. After I put the trim all the was down I tried taking off again and the same thing happened around 1000-1200 rpms, it felt like the prop was loose or something. I turned everything off and went into the water to see if something was loose. Everything seemed fine. I started it one more time and tried again and everything was ok. Yesterday I went out again with the family and my wife asked me if the boat is vibrating more than normal. My boat is a 08 Chaparral 180ssi with 4.3 merc. Any advice on what I should look for or check out.

Re: prop or motor question (new boater)

Welcome to iboats. Assuming you are able to reach full speed and rpm at WOT, I don't think you have a prop issue. If your rpm is unusually high at a given speed, you likely have a spun hub. Hope for that....

Perhaps this question is better suited to the Merc section.

Good luck!
