prop? outboard height? underpower?

Calling all experts or mechanics.I bought a 13.6ft fiberglass and 91 30hp mariner short shaft(separately). tried the boat on water, on wide open throttle the boat loses power and speed, on turning either left or right the propeller breaks loose. i measure
cavitation plate as per the post
online, the plate is 2.6inches above the bottom of my hull. Please help
me!!!

Lower your motor about 1 1/2" so the plate is only about 1" above the keel

Your video really explained nothing. Have you cheked to insure you are running full rpms?

Some motors have adjustment holes to raise and lower the motor.
You may be able to lower the motor as suggested. if the motor is as low as possible you
may be able to build or buy jack plate so you can lower the motor. You just need to have clearance for the clamps and turning the motor.
Allow enough movement so you can adjust so the anti vent plate(just above the prop). is an inch below to an inch above the bottom of the transom.
"loses power and speed" do you mean it revs but slows like it is slipping?
