how do you determine what Pitch and dia, you need, I have a 17.5' boat with a 1976 merc 115 hp . I want to be able to pull a tubber well, so I will want speed, as well as torc.

How do you mesure the pitch and dia. of the prop you already got, the man who re hubbed my prop for me told me it was way out of pitch, so how do I figure what the pitch is and what it should be.

Thanks,
Thomas

Re: Prop pitch and dia. questions

You can measure the dia. by measuring from the center of the prop shaft hole to the tip of one blade and multiply by two. Measuring the pitch is a different story. That takes a special piece of equipment your prop shop will have. The guys at the prop shop should be able to point you in the right direction as far as prop diameter and pitch.

c/6

Hooty
