I recently bought an 87' Bayliner Capri 1400 (about 14ft) with a Force 50hp. Went tubing and the boat had a hard time getting up on plane. Once on plane, no problems, except my tubing rope kept getting caught up in the water. The set-up for the tubing was a 60 foot rope attached to a set-up that attached to my transom bolts. Together about 75 feet in length, from boat to tube. I guess I have two questions to ask;
1. If I reduce the pitch of my prop, then will I be able to get up onto plane faster with the increased RPM?
2. If I reduce the length of my tubing rope, then will it stay out of the water?

CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH THESE PROBLEMS????

Re: Prop Pitch and Tubing

You should start your own thread.There is a new thread tab at the top of the 1st prop page. Read "read this first" at the top of the 1st page get us as much info as possible.
Without the details yes a reduction in pitch will usually help hole shot.Question is what pitch?need the details.
On the rope I can't be much help I wouldn't go less than 60 ft. You might observe some tubing on you tube see how they do it.
